Carly Whittington, CPDT, CPCN

Born Good Dog Training, LLC is a professionally certified dog training company, created with the goal to help strengthen the bond between you and your dog! The methods Carly uses are evidence-backed, scientifically proven, and focused on helping you and your pup understand ways to better understand each other. Carly is a CPDT certified dog trainer, as well as a CATCH Canine Academy alumni. She has developed a unique training style over the past 9+ years from working with hundreds of dogs and realizing that different methods work for different dogs... But one thing remains constant between all of them; all dogs can be good dogs when shown structure, balance, and patience!

Carly is also a Certified Professional Canine Nutritionist! Taking a holistic approach to dog training means looking at the whole dog. When you and your dog are enrolled in a Born Good Dog training program, we chat frequently about nutrition and how feeding your dog a species appropriate diet can enhance your dog’s life in endless ways!

When you live a busy life, it is hard to consistently provide the attention and care that your pets deserve. With 12 years of satisfied owners and spoiled pets, you can rely on Carly to provide top of the line care for your furry family members. Letting your dog stay in the comfort of their own home, (or the comfort of Carly’s home offered mainly to training graduates), with an experienced caretaker is proven to create a more peaceful, less stressful time apart from their owners. What services do you offer?

Consultation: 1 hour - $80. All training services require a consultation for me to meet you and your dog, take a behavior history, and to develop a training plan together.
Walk and Trains: 1(+) hour. The bulk of my obedience training packages. I develop leash manners with your dog, work on impulse control, socialization/exposure, confidence building, obedience skills, etc. Owner does not need to be present during these. Sessions are filmed for you to review and practice.
Private Training: 1 hour. Owner present. Work on obedience skills, instilling a calmer mindset in the home, guest manners, crate training, place command, jumping, counter surfing, etc. Goal is to address any day to day “issues” you feel are effecting you & your dog’s relationship. All training packages have private sessions included, but you also may book single private sessions at any time.

These are the basic, most common services I offer. All training plans are curated based on the owner and dog and are discussed in detail at our initial consultation.

What are your rates?

Every dog's training plan is curated individually, therefore plan pricing will be different for each client. We will decide on what plan will be best for you and your dog at your consultation! Where are you located?

I come to you! I offer in-home training, as well as public meet-ups. Servicing Berlin, Ocean Pines, Bishopville, OCMD and surrounding areas.

When do you offer training?

My schedule is flexible to your schedule. I know most dog parents work full time jobs! So, I often work evenings and weekends to accomodate to your free time. The majority of dog training is me training YOU! I work with the dog 1 on 1 without the owner present in many training plans, but it is crucial that we are able to schedule some time to work together so you can keep up with all of your pup’s training :)
